Hobart is the capital city of Tasmania, Australia, on the island’s southeastern coast. With a population of over 220,000 people, Hobart is the second-oldest capital city in Australia and has a rich history and cultural heritage.
One of the main attractions in Hobart is its historic architecture, with many beautiful colonial-style buildings and historic homes still standing in the city. Visitors can walk through the city’s charming streets and admire the unique blend of old and new architecture.
Another popular attraction in Hobart is the famous Salamanca Market, held every Saturday and a must-visit for anyone interested in local arts, crafts, and food. Visitors can sample local delicacies and browse through the stalls selling handmade goods, clothing, and jewelry. I was pregnant when we visited the market and ended up buying our baby the most adorable Uggs and a book about fairy penguins directly from the author and illustrator. This was one of the best market I’ve ever visited.

Hobart is also known for its stunning natural beauty, with several parks and gardens in the city and the surrounding areas. Visitors can stroll through the lush Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens or hike in the nearby Mount Wellington National Park. We visited Hell’s Kitchen, the blowholes, and other places.

For those interested in history, the city is home to several museums and galleries, including the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, which showcases the state’s rich cultural heritage.
Hobart is also a popular destination for foodies, with a vibrant food scene that includes a range of local and international cuisines, from seafood to European-style bistros. We enjoyed an unbelievable meal at Born in Brunswick.

Hobart is a charming and historic city that offers something for everyone. Hobart has plenty to see and do whether you’re interested in history, culture, or outdoor activities. We had such a blast exploring the city and can’t wait to visit again.
